Structured training sessions, what's that all about?
- Although we are limited at Q2F for time and certain types of facilities there are plenty of opportunities for a little bit of training for endurance running other than just going for an hours steady paced run.
These session could include the following activities:
Hill training (a number of timed hill repetitions) combining speed and strength work
Interval training (short intense efforts followed by similar recovery periods)
Tempo run (threshold training) long warm up, sustained effort at or above your anaerobic threshold, long cool down
Fartlek session (less structured speed play), group takes it in turn during run to decide when/where/distance to run hard
Beginners classes based on the NHS Couch to 5k program - Postponed until further notice
Please note that sessions may vary (or even be cancelled) depending on the availability of leaders and weather conditions on the day.
